Reverie Coffee Roasters: Brewing Connections

Since its start in 2013, Reverie Coffee Roasters has grown from a small roasting operation in Wichita into a pillar of the local and regional coffee community. What began as a wholesale coffee roasting business has evolved into a vibrant café experience, a leading wholesale supplier, and an industry voice for small food businesses across the state. Owner Andrew Gough and his team have built a company that not only sources and roasts high-quality coffee, but also centers itself around one central belief: everything is better together.

Located on East Douglas in Wichita, Reverie’s flagship café sits adjacent to their roasting facility, offering visitors a transparent look at the coffee-making process from bean to cup. Their retail presence extends to a thriving drive-through location in Newton, Kansas, while their wholesale services touch nearly 150 businesses across Kansas and all 50 states. Whether it’s through carefully sourced beans, consulting services, or helping other cafes get started, Reverie’s reach goes far beyond its café walls.

But Reverie is more than just a coffee brand, it’s a catalyst for positive change. Gough is driven by a mission to make a meaningful impact in his community. “We ask ourselves, ‘Are we influencing people to make positive changes?’” he said.

That mission is reflected in everything they do — from sourcing 60% of ingredients through local and regional suppliers to reinvesting profits back into the community. Through their values of reciprocity and advocacy, Gough has even played a role in improving food tax policies affecting small businesses in Kansas, proving that entrepreneurship and public service can go hand in hand.

In addition to coffee, Reverie’s in-house craft bakery adds another layer of excellence to their offerings. With what Gough calls the “best bakery team in Wichita,” their pastries bring global flavors to local tables. Each pastry is created with the same care and intentionality as their coffee that is meant to surprise, delight, and invite customers into a deeper connection with their food and their community.

For those who love a little friendly competition, Reverie occasionally hosts throwdown events that are lighthearted, energetic gatherings where coffee professionals and

enthusiasts go head-to-head in latte art or other skills. While there isn’t one currently on the calendar, Gough says the team is always dreaming up what could come next — hinting at the possibility of a fall event. These throwdowns are more than competitions, they’re celebrations of craft, camaraderie, and creativity.

At its core, Reverie Coffee Roasters is about people. Gough lights up when he talks about watching his employees grow, whether they’re trying a new flavor in the bakery or serving customers with pride.

“Their successes are what matter,” he said. “If no one can come into work and learn, then no one can grow.” It’s that spirit of growth, connection, and doing good that keeps Reverie grounded, even as it reaches for bigger and bolder brews. So next time you’re in Wichita, stop by for a cup of coffee, a world-class pastry, and a place where community is always on the menu.
